India was the first country to won the world cup at their Home Soil. India won the match by 6 wickets. This was one of the proudest moment for India as India won the world cup after 28 years and also this was the last world cup for Sachin Tendulkar.

9. Polio Free Nation in 2014


India is declared as Polio Free Nation by WHO in 2014 as their were no polio cases were found since 2011. In 2014, India joins the list of Polio Free Nation along with the rest of South-East Asia region. All thanks to the hardwork of Indian Government, Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Notable WHO, Rotary International and UNICEF.
In 2010, India introduced Bivalent Polio Vaccine, which helps India in eradication of Polio and to battle against this disease.

10. Mangalyaan
